We’re excited to welcome our new Executive Chef!

The owner of Glasbern Inn announced today that J. David Bates has joined its culinary staff as its new Executive Chef.

Since coming on board last month, Chef Bates has already revamped the menu for The Pub, which is only open for overnight guests of the inn. The menu can be viewed online here: http://www.glasbern.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/Pub-Menu.pdf

He will also be launching a new dinner menu for The Dining Room in the very near future. Chef Bates will continue to cultivate the restaurant’s farm-to-table menu by developing relationships with area butchers and farmers in order to serve the freshest local meats and produce to restaurant patrons.

A professional chef with over 20 years of experience in banquet and meeting management for upscale hotels, restaurants and country clubs, Chef Bates has extensive experience in the Lehigh Valley dining scene. Past positions include Executive Sous Chef at Bravo Cucina in Whitehall, Executive Chef at Shula’s Steak House at the Promenade Shops in Saucon Valley, and Executive a la Carte Chef at Saucon Valley Country Club.

“I’m excited to have a chef of David’s caliber join the culinary team at Glasbern,” said Owner Al Granger. “We look forward to his leadership and culinary inspiration in taking our Dining Room, Pub and in-room food service to the next level.”

Glasbern review by couple who celebrated their 25th anniversary with us

Thanks to Tammy Flower for this glowing review on our Facebook page:

My husband and I stayed at the Glasbern Inn last week for our 25th wedding anniversary. We cannot say enough great things about the Glasbern Inn. We were given an upgrade in room when we arrived as they were not fully booked which, was wonderful as we got the garden cottage all to ourselves, away from everyone. The food was fresh to table, it was hearty and tasted fantastic. The farm is beautiful, for anyone who nature- it is must to visit and stay. The thing we loved must about the Glasbern Inn were the individuals who worked there and cared for us during our stay. Everyone was so friendly and we could tell, not only do they care about the service they give, but they love their jobs and love the Inn itself. This will not be the last time we stay and I can hardly wait for the next. Thanks Glasbern Inn for making our anniversary stay a wonderful one.
